Police have released CCTV footage of the dramatic moment a man was rammed off his motorbike and into a parked van in Pinxton, Derbyshire, UK.
The man, Ashley Wood, was left lying in the road unconscious, having sustained serious injuries in the collision.
However, 29-year-old Wood was yesterday sentenced for a series of offences that took place in the minutes prior to the collision, with CCTV footage showing him kicking off car wing mirrors and speeding along pavements. Wood was also found to be over the drink-drive limit, under the influence of drugs and driving an uninsured motorbike at the time of the collision.
Shortly after he rode around kicking cars, Ashley Wood was pursued by an orange Fiat Punto. CCTV shows the car following him along Victoria Road before ramming him head-on into a parked van.
The car which knocked him into the van was later found burnt out in a lay-by. The incident took place on 15 June last year, but the driver of the Punto has not been caught or identified. Police believe that this was a deliberate act.
