A man bit down on a police officer’s finger for eight minutes as he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
Police said the 25-year-old man appeared to be drunk and was highly abusive as he fought back.
He managed to grab a finger of one of the police officer’s between his teeth, as they wrestled on the ground, and refused to let go.
In the end police lifted the man onto his feet – still biting down on the officer’s finger and leaving him in visible pain.
The police officer can be heard pleading for his finger to be released but the man he just kept shaking his head and grunting: ‘I don’t want to.’
The man then tried to run off but was quickly recaptured.
He was taken to a police station where he refused to produce his documents or undergo tests to determine the amount of alcohol in his system.
