Luckily no one was injured in the shocking incident.
In shocking footage recorded on 4 July in Virgina, US, the vehicle – which fortunately was parked up and had no one inside – disappears completely after the sinkhole opens up.
According to the Prince William Times, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has said the sinkhole likely opened after a thunderstorm on Thursday which saw around one inch of rain fall in Dale City over a 24-hour period.
The heavy rainfall resulted in a nearby creek overflowing and putting pressure on a storm drain, which then resulted in soil being pushed away underground causing the whole area to become unstable, according to a spokesperson from VDOT.
The vehicle has since been pulled out of the hole but VDOT has warned that it will take ‘a lot longer to fix the sinkhole and patch the roadway’.
