This is the shocking moment a boxer walks out of the ring after start bell rings.
Imagine splashing out on tickets for a boxing match, only for the whole thing to be over within minutes. Ok, if you saw a KO in the first round, you might not be too bothered – at least there’s some form of entertainment there. But how would you feel if it lasted only a second?
Enter Curtis Harper, who might well have set a record for the shortest bout in boxing history. The 30-year-old American walked into the ring like any boxer would, preparing to fight against the up-and-coming prospect Efe Ajagba.
The boxers did their usual with the referee as the rules were laid out for the fight and then headed to their respective corners – but then the story took a really bizarre, unexpected twist. As you can see in the clip, one second after the bell is rung, Harper steps through the ropes and makes his way back up the ramp.
Yes, the fight literally lasted ONE second. Of course, most people would have sympathy for the man if it was an important reason, but considering Harper walked out over how much he was paid, there may not be too many who will back his corner.
