Most people think of scallops as little blobs of seafood that taste great with bacon. In reality, they’re actually pretty fast swimmers. This rare footage of a scallop filmed at Port Phillip Bay, Australia, shows a live specimen pulling off some surprisingly quick moves.
It turns out catching scallops is a lot hard than you think. While most people may not realize this… scallops are surprisingly very skilled and fast swimmers.
They open and close their shells to quickly propel themselves underwater — so don’t just assume they’ll fall into your plate of spaghetti without putting up a fight.
