In the footage, a very large rat can be seen scurrying around fruit stands on the street, only to encounter a sleepy black cat. Only the rat doesn’t run away scared — it actually seems to challenge the cat, bravely inching closer as the feline takes swipes.

The two seem to be locked in a sort of Mexican stand-off, with the rat menacingly looming over the cat until the feline eventually loses its nerve and backs away, leaving bystanders audibly stunned.
