Woman Calls Police Over Black Man Babysitting White Children

A black man who was babysitting two white children had the police called on him to carry out a welfare check after a white woman saw them together in Walmart.

Corey Lewis runs a youth mentoring program called ‘Inspired By Lewis’ and was looking after the children of his friends.

The trio went to Walmart and enjoyed Subway before getting in the car to return home, which is when Corey was approached by a woman asking to check on the children, a 10-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy.

It is reported that Lewis refused to let the woman speak to the young girl, resulting in her following him home and calling the police requesting a welfare check to be carried out.

Sure enough the police arrived from Cobb County Police Department to quiz Corey and the children he was babysitting.

The matter was resolved when the officer called the children’s parents. The parents said that their son attends Corey’s mentoring program and they had arranged for him to watch the children.
