We’ve all opted to leave our coat at home, only for the skies to torrentially piss it down, and as we walk along the street we get shat on by a bird. Wrong place, wrong time and all that. But has anyone ever passed a cannon at the exact moment it goes off? Didn’t think so.
This bird did just that when it flew into the line of a ceremonial cannon as it was fired in Malta.
Since the 19th century, Malta has used blank rounds rather than live ammunition for its salute, which marks midday. Not that it would have made a bit of difference for this poor guy.
The Mirror reported that it’s not known whether the pigeon was killed or not but according to Karl Oliver, a honeymooner who filmed the footage, things didn’t end well as you can probably imagine.
