Bungling Duo Break In To An Escape Room And Ransack The Building After Mistaking It For A Real Bank

A pair of thieves has been branded ‘Manchester’s stupidest burglars’ after breaking into a bank heist-themed escape room and creeping around as if it was real.

The duo smashed their way into the Lucardo Escape Rooms on Great Ancoats Street in the city centre during the early hours of Thursday morning.

They made their way through three sets of doors to gain entry and ransacked the business, stealing £100 cash and causing around £1000 in damage.

Thieves Break Into Fake Bank

One of the escape rooms at the attraction is called Gem Runner, where players have an hour to find a diamond in a mock bank heist.

CCTV footage which captures them in the act shows them going around the make-believe bank, pulling a safe out from under a desk and looking behind it. One of the men is wearing what appears to be an anonymous mask, however at one point it is above his head to his face can be seen, whilst the second man is wearing a balaclava.
