We’ve gotta say, setting up a spike strip in a spot with a bunch of cars and houses right nearby seems like a… bad choice by the cops.
The accident took place on Sunday around noon when Dale H. Tucker refused to pull over when he was asked by the police to stop the car in a nearby parking lot. The police officer then started to chase him, but stopped after about half a mile as the offender began to drive in a reckless manner at high speeds. The fleeing driver lost control of the car after attempting to avoid a spike strip, crashing into a couple of parked vehicles.
A man, woman, and what sounds like a kid are sitting in a car, parked along the side of the road in Windham, Maine, while the man films a high speed chase. Suddenly the speeding car swerves out of control, crosses the lane into oncoming traffic, and slams into them. Crazy!
The people in the car were rushed to the hospital, with “serious but non life-threatening injuries,” according to WMTW News. A truck was also hit, but the driver was not injured.
