Shoppers at a large outdoor mall in Sydney, Australia were shocked by a demonstration led by animal rights group PETA on Saturday in which they barbecued a prop dog in an attempt to turn others to veganism.

The stunt was carried out at Pitt Street Mall in the centre of Sydney. Millions of Australian are preparing a big barbecue to celebrate Australia Day on Saturday. Peta hope people will reconsider what they cook this year.

PETA is known for its confronting demonstrations and campaigns, with the plan to make people think about the choices they make when eating meat.

Some people think they have a fair point: What’s the difference between a dog or a lamb – or a dog or a pig? But people are not buying what PETA trying to deliver.
