CCTV captures the shocking moment stolen car ploughs into parked cars

A joyrider in a stolen Mini Cooper slammed into two parked cars in a late-night wrecking spree and then ran off. The Mini’s headlights come roaring into view as the hatchback rips down the narrow residential street in Blackwood, Wales in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

As it tries to make the narrow pass between cars it smashes into the rear of a parked Vauxhall Insignia and spins out across the road, crashing into a car on the other side of the road. The front of the Mini hit the first car so hard that its rear lifted into the air as it span forwards. There were cold conditions at that time of night, as cars can be seen with frosted windows, and the Mini was clearly going far too fast. The owner of the Vauxhall which the Mini initially struck confirmed his car had been written off.

His wife told Wales Online: ‘It’s a miracle it happened late at night when there was no one about because someone could easily have been seriously hurt or even killed.’ She added that her husband was ‘gutted because he’s had that car for years it’s his pride and joy.’ She said she was less worried about the car and glad it had happened so late at night because it meant nobody was injured.

Police confirmed the car had been stolen from an address about five miles away and they are still hunting for the joyrider. The suspect can be seen jogging away from the scene wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black hoodie.
